Assessment FAQ
Our safety assessments continue to be one of our best-selling items. With new customers making inquiries so frequently, we've decided to add an Assessment FAQ to the site. If you have a question which isn't answered here, please contact us. We are always happy to help!
Are your safety assessments issued by a cosmetic chemist?
Yes. And he is also a registered toxicologist. When we issue your safety assessment, we will also provide you with the chemist's CV for your records.
Can I have my products assessed by you?
Sadly, no. The assessments we offer contain pre-approved formulas. We are not able to assess other formulas at this time. If you would like any information sheet about any of our assessments, please get in touch.
Will the safety assessment be in my name?
Yes. The safety assessment will be issued in your name only.
If I buy an assessment from Gracefruit Limited , do I also have to buy the ingredients I use to make the assessed product from Gracefruit Limited ?
No, you are free to use any reputable supplier, but please ensure you obtain the relevant paperwork (MSDS, etc) from the supplier for your records.
Can I make changes to my assessment?
This is definitely possible, and you will need to work directly with the chemist once the assessment has been issued. There may be a charge for alterations to the assessment.
Are there any automatic updates for my assessment?
Yes! We regularly issue an addendum which includes any new fragrance oils added to the site. Please contact us if you would like a fragrance oil addendum for any of your assessments which contain fragrance oils. There is no charge for the fragrance oil addendum.
Do you need any information from me before the assessment is issued?
Yes. We will send over a questionnaire asking you to outline your manufacturing and storage procedures. This document will be given to the chemist for review. Once your practices are approved, your assessment will be issued.
How long does it take for an assessment to be issued?
Once we have received the completed questionnaire, your assessment will be issued within seven business days.
Will I receive any other documentation with my assessment?
Yes. You will receive a copy of the chemist's CV as well as a comprehensive information sheet that will give you information on labelling, suggestions for variations, packaging suggestions, and specific details on how to keep a PIP (Product Information Pack) for every batch you make. If you have any questions or need further information on our assessment packages, please feel free to contact us. Your local Trading Standards Office is also there to help should you have questions.
